Hi everyone,

Following this discussion last week on adding guides to product mentions, we've now set up all the existing guides with a # mention so you can easily find any guide by typing a short keyword!

What's happening?

We've created shortcuts to each community guide using the product mentions feature so you can easily link to the guides without having to find the URL!

How does it work?

Just like the product mentions, you can use # followed by a keyword linked to a guide to quickly bring up a link to that guide. The system is quite flexible with the keywords so you can pretty much use any word from the guide title to bring up the guide, however, I've listed the guides below with a guranteed-to-work keyword to use whilst you get used to the new system.

Here's an example of how the PAC guide looks:

Screen Shot 2019-04-23 at 16.05.31.png

As you can see typing "PAC" brings up a list of related guides which you can choose from the drop down menu!

What are the guides and keywords?

As mentioned above the system is pretty intuitive and you should be fine using any word from the title of the guide you want. I've listed a keyword for each guide below which you can use while you get used to the feature or in case you run into any issues.

Excellent @Martin-O2

Brilliant job, well done.

@Martin-O2 can we add Payforitsucks to the list. He is a member of the forum and we use his guide a lot, particularly at the moment, as you can see from the many posts. It would be very helpful to all of us. Thanks.

Unless, of course, it's already there and I just can't find it

Paul would need to submit a guide on the forum I guess as I doubt it would be possible to link to an external website.

Ah, I forgot Payforit is an external website. I'll have to use it the old-fashioned way then.

Thanks @MI5.

But it's a good idea to get at least a link added to our current scam guide.
Maybe admin could do this for us?

I remember asking for this a few months back. I asked @adamtemp64 and mentioned it to one of the managers.

On reflection though I worry it may be missed. The community guide is a big one for someone to read and unless @Payforit_Sucks  info is right at the top I can't see people scrolling through to get to it.

On the guide I'm doing, I am providing links to the Community guide and Payforit sucks website.

Just a word of warning..if you type #mobile in full, you get no mentions found... @pgn

This is the issue I mentioned in the first post about adding guide mentions. When typing in full words for some of the titles it cuts off. We have a support ticket open and a bug has been identified. In the mean time typing the start of a word or using one of the tested keywords above will do the job!

The initial list is of community guides only but there's no reason why we can't expand it. We'll have a think about adding links to external sites. :smiling:

Nice one @Martin-O2 (and the rest of team for getting this to work).
If we are going to add links to external sites, I would guess they need to go through some sort of vetting or checking?

Please note, this is not customer services and we cannot access your account. Do not publish personal details (email, phone number, bank account).

Thanks @gmarkj !

Yes I'm certainly not ruling out linking to external sites (obviously you guys are free to do so) in the official mentions but it's something we'll have to discuss with the wider team first.
