Just to update everyone, it seems O2 have recently improved their process to transfer an esim to a new phone.

I phoned today to request a new e-sim pack as described in their help and support pages, and also on this forum.
However, it was all done in 10 minutes online. A new QR code appeared in the "My O2" web site and after I scanned it on my new iPhone, the number ported instantly.

@DrB

Yes, it's a new feature added in the last week or so.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Any reference to that new process on the forum yet, so it can go into the relevant Guide(s), @MI5?

No, not seen anything and most likely only for those that have been moved to the new system so far.

Would be nice if you could swap from standard SIM to eSIM that way, as I did with Vodafone

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Would be nice if all customer services knew about it, just called and only way they said was posting an sim pack or going to a store.

Tagging @Martin-O2 for info - any clarification in this, as per my post on the relevant Guide earlier in the week?

Obviously not on all customer support training as I was told post or store were the only alternatives.
😕

Seems to be easier to do after your account has been migrated to the new billing system, 360, @Magyver1:
