Can anyone here please explain how O2 work out their VAT please.. as i cant get it to work out at the VAT rate of 20%.. Thx

You need to open your bill and then download the pdf to see the simple amount of VAT. Just opening My O2 you will see it added to various bill breakdown amounts.

Vat is inclusive on consumer contracts. It's added after with Business contracts

They work it out exactly the same way as anyone else.

ie if your bill is £17 it is £14.17 x 0.2 = £17.004p

There are online tools that can help, this one is good at telling you what the VAT is on a sum that includes the VAT:

I prefer this online vat calculator I found the UX to be a lot better than what some people have already suggested.

That one works well too, @mrspotato.

 

This one even lets you take a bunch of receipts, splits out or calculates the VAT at whatever rate you select, and then loads it all into Excel for you.

 

Surprisingly, on gov.uk's website, the VAT calculator is not so easy to find....
