@Tanya_chalmers Your previous contract would not have stopped unless you canceled it. Please see the guide posted above. Is your new contract with O2 or with another provider? If it's with O2 you will need to speak to customer service to get your number transferred to your new contract. https://www.o2.co.uk/contactus
If you've moved to another provider, you will need a PAC to move your number. https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/How-to-Guides/How-to-get-your-PAC-2017-Update/ba-p/1052278
