Has anybody recently been cut off even though used very recently? (no signal, sim unassigned, balance £0 etc.)
I managed to get it back and credit re-established after a couple of calls to C/S.
What gives??

Hello,
This has happened to me as well. O2 payg sim card disconnected with no warning at all and credit lost (and I have made chargeable calls within the last month 😡)
It’s a number I use for work so I really need it working again. Can anyone help please?

You have to contact O2. Either borrow a phone to call 0344 809 0222
Or use Skype Guide: A Guide to Skype
Or use social media
Facebook ( https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter ( https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram ( https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help.

Hi Dave - I am replying to this post as I have the same issue. The most annoying and unsatisfactory part about this is that there was no waring from O2. I got weekly/daily texts about buying minutes. etc. But, no warning about being cut-off. And the result is that O2 have robbed my remaining credit from me. Have just spent 40 minutes on the phone with customer services - all they would do is sell me any over-priced monthly plan. Extremely disappointing. JoeL4

So everything about O2 is pretty sub-standard then?

Pretty much

The key is the statement every 180 days (179 days ?)
' Make a chargeable call '
Sending a text does not work as not a call.
Maybe lucky but every time have been reconnected then a second call to get credit restored.

Are O2 cutting off classic pay as you go customers without rhyme or reason? Ornis this because these users did not make a chargeable call within 6 months (call not text). A person's phone number is precious, especially as it's needed to restore WhatsApp chats. O2 shouldn't cut off numbers without a warning

The number does not belong to the customer, it belongs in the first instance to the issuing network.
It is up to the customer to make sure they follow the correct procedure re use.
