Hi, I reset my phone and didn't notice that the data was on, the phone is a spare left in the car, I only need it to make calls if needed.

Is there a way to block for data usage by O2 and have the phone for calls & texts only.

You just need to turn off mobile data in the phone settings

If you tell us the phone we can take you through it step by step

ScreenHunter 10.jpg    Nokia 5.1.     I only know this one, see screen capture.  A mate of mine bought a new phone and sim, put in £20 and made one call, next time he wanted to use it it was empty, he took it back to the shop, the phone had used up all his cash updating the phone, at least they credited his phone with the £20.

I just checked the phone again, the data saver was on, but 1 app was allowed, the play store. So thats what used my cash up.

In your screenshot mobile data is off

It's more than likely the tariff whereby your payment is taken in exchange for monthly allowances

Its a pay and go sim. No the data was used updating the phone, it came up to finish updating I had to join a network.

You learn by your mistakes 😀 I have blocked all apps from using data.

Some PAYG SIMs on O2 auto-renew @pete-s. I think this is what @jonsie is referring to :-
