can anyone help my son is alone on holiday with two friends in france and cannot access any data , his data roaming is on really panicking that he wont be able to contact us x

Some generic things to try:

Check data roaming is on in phone settings.

Manually search for and try other networks - even if flagged as forbidden.

Turn off 5g

Enable 4g calling (if on contract)

Change your data APN to "mobile.o2.co.uk" if not data is being received.

Check with O2 whether you have a roaming bar on your account. Do this via social media

If you message O2 on Facebook or Instagram https://www.o2.co.uk/abouto2/social-media they should be able to help.

aww thank you he said hes switched to an e sim and he thinks that may have sorted it does that sound right ? how will that work with billing will it be included with his data x

He gets 25gb of data per billing cycle.

The type of sim used makes no difference.
