Have spent bext part of 2 hours on live chat to O2 trying to negotiate a new phone contract with NHS discount.
At the last second, discount with Live Chat is lost, NHS discount disappears and contract at full cost appears in my inbox. It was interesting that there were no connection issues up to that point
Accept I have 14 days to cancel but .. really? Am busy - I don't have time to waste on this rubbish.
How do I now check if discount went through?

Just follow the steps here. You won't know until the second bill otherwise then it's too late to cancel.
