Hi

I have a Microsoft Lumia 550 phone.

For a while now, when someone calls, there is no sound.

I looked on the internet and found out that I could do a soft or hard reset

For the soft reset, it states to press the volume button and the power on button at the same time.

When I did this, it took a picture of the phone screen.

For the hard reset, it states I would lose all data, I haven't tried this, as I am not sure if all my text messages and pictures will be deleted.

Can anyone help.

@RM19894

A soft reset is usually volume down + power and hold for around 20 seconds.

For hard reset,

If you are backed up to windows ID all your texts will be restored when you login again and your pictures will be on OneDrive, but always back them up just to be safe.

Hey @RM19894, have either of the resets helped with your phone issues? Do you need any more help at all?

Hi

Thanks for the reply

I tried the soft reset, but the phone still isn't working.

I am not sure whether to do the hard reset, as I might lose all texts/pictures/apps.

The texts is working but, when someone calls, or I call someone, I can't get no sound.

Try putting it on loudspeaker.
If that works, your internal earpiece speaker is busted.
