Hi everyone
Since I moved to the UK almost 5 years ago, I've not witnessed such a summery Summer. I can still hardly believe we've had around 30 degrees for weeks now!
Some like the heat, barbecues, and extra Vitamin D, while others prefer a cooler weather that can be managed with layers and hot beverages ... but what do YOU prefer?

4 definite seasons can't be beat...
Cold crisp winter, hot and dry summer, and a season either side to transition...
We would need to adopt the continental requirement to change tyres to match the winter road conditions though!

The results are now in, so drum roll please ....
Your 23 replies have been quite split!
Let's make the best we can out of this Summer, whether it's putting our fans to work and going on an ice-cream mainly diet, or putting on a tan and getting our yearly dose of sunshine in, and see what the next one brings in a year

It IS a real split @EmilieT.
I suggest age may have been the defining factor between the 'Never' or 'Every year' answers.
I didn't go for either of those by the way. I was probably the only one who opted for every 3 years
If I remember correctly I also voted every 3 years ... I burn so easily, this isn't comfortable weather for me but I do appreciate that loads of people love it.
It's good to be able to say we had a Summer and normal seasons at least instead of 3 autumns and 1 winter

I've chosen never. Summer and hot temperatures are ok, but temp around 40°C, no rain for many weeks and as a result extreme drought (around 40% harvest loss are expected, the damage to new trees etc not yet calcuable... Especially as it's unusual, the farmers aren't insured for droughtness as it's very expensive here) aren't that cool (haha).

If you don't mind my asking, where did you move from?
Thanks @pgn for sharing my Spotlight
To answer more specifically @Anonymous, my family is based near Bordeaux, so that's where I was in France before coming to London. And I was originally born in the very South of France, around Toulon, where some of my family still lives
