Great O2 Customer Service

Seeing as people are naturally so quick to complain about the poor customer service they receive, I thought I would write a post to praise the service I received this afternoon, when I phoned 2302 to have a whinge about the appalling battery life on my 4 day old iPhone 4.

I explained the problem (I won't go into it in detail, suffice to say that my battery wasn't lasting more than 10-12 hours even when the phone was not being used) to a guy in customer services.

He agreed that it sounded like there was a fault with my handset, as other customers had reported much better battery life than the 3GS. He has ordered up a replacement handset for me (apparently, O2 keep reserves for exchanges and replacements), and has said that it will be delivered by the end of the week. No questions asked, no excuses, just good customer service.

Thank you, O2.

Now I just have to hope that the replacement handset doesn't have the same problem! grin

Do me a favour. Don't touch it until you have given it a couple of hours from the mains charger. Don't run the battery down at all without a complete full charge first. See how you get on.

Your phone was definitely faulty.

Currently I am on 40% remaining

Standby 2 days 7 hours

Usage 5hrs 9mins

And I expect it to get better after the next charge cycle.

As soon as I get it, it's being plugged in while I sync it up and set it up how I want it.... Then it's staying plugged in all night!

Then I'll just run a couple of full-cycle charges on the battery.

Cheers for the advice fella slight_smile

I am trying to run mine down with calls and internet/wifi use. But it is holding on! slight_smile

I am chuffed to bits with the battery life and thinking hard about what I can use on the antenna without ruining the look of the phone. I know a man from 3m! wink

Sounds good. Hope my replacement is as good as that! I've just put another post up - now my screen has stopped auto-rotating!

I assume your portrait orientation is unlocked???

Otherwise turn off and on.

Yep it's not switched on. Never has been... It was working fine all morning until I came to send another text, and then it just decided that it didn't want to play any more!

Funnily enough, it happened to me this morning for this first time. I restarted the phone but it was handy to find where the orientation lock was hiding.

I may well have hit the lock, easy done.
