Setting up new phone Mobile service

Hiya, 

trying to set up my new iPhone 16 pro max mobile service & transferring my number over. 

it didn’t work & my old phone is now reset but my new phone has no service & no number

Best thing to do is to pop to an o2 store with Photo ID and get a new esim pack, or the preferred option by many both on here and the IT world is to stick to a physical sim
