new tarrifs

Ive heard about the new tarriffs being introuduced at the end of May and im worried how this might affect me. Currenty im on pay and go go go and I get 150 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb of data for £10 a month. However the new tarriffs say that you'll only get 100mins and 1000 texts for £10 a month. Obviously this is worse for me, not better. Just wondered if I can stay with the tariff im on or whether its going to change to a new one automatically? If so then im not happy!

I would contact CS first on 4445 and explain the issue. If you don't get any redress or satisfaction from them you could consider an official complaint http://www.o2.co.uk/how-to-complain

Correct me if I am wrong but can't you (OP) just stay on your existing tariff? Isn't the new structure for those who choose to change to the new tariff?

Ouch. Could they go for all the other legacy tariffs next then? I.e. including unlimited data?

Glad I have my EE sim now then

Yep - wouldn't surprise me if they did....
They are trying to put people off the legacy tariff anyway by imposing a data limit which is lower than the 4G tariffs are offering ?

A lot of people will be getting massive shocks when their credit disappears unless they are aware of the change from the 5p/min they are used to. I don't think a complaint will be upheld as it has been published on the website.

And yet still o2 are growing. No wonder o2 are doing this. They can afford to.

New customers seem to outnumber the people leaving but in my opinion O2 are no longer the innovators they once were. I know personally quite a few friends have left O2 over the past couple of months, mainly due to network issues and better deals elsewhere. I'm not sure how long O2 can sustain this growth.

On a personal note I am now 48 hours of no network due to a mast being down in my area. The EE sim will be up and running tomorrow!!
