Hi

I have recently purchased iphone 12 pro and am using it with the O2 Sim card. Unfortunately the battery drains almost by 25% overnight when the phone is idle.

I have replaced the phone already and did not make any difference.

If i remove the sim card the battery works fine, its only loses about 2 - 4 % overnight.

It is something to do with the Sim card.

Can you please advise.

thank you

I assume that without a sim card it isn't connected to anything so it would be similar to being on airplane mode, hence the low battery drain.

You may have 5g enabled and not be in a 5g area which would mean the radio was working overtime constantly checking for a 5g signal, turn it off and see if it helps.

This issue is not resolved and the battery issue still remains, i have already tried all the battery saving tips from the internet.

Either there is something wrong with the iphone 12 or the 4g modems.

I am wondering if using esim will be any better.

Then I suggest you return it for repair or replacement.

You need to contact O2.
All numbers are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
When you call, you will be asked for the reason you are calling.
Stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.
You can also try saying "Upgrade" or "Fraud" to be connected to an advisor.
8.00am is the best time to call if you can.

@user43212

You won't know unless you try.

Assuming you got a new 5g sim with the phone, do a sim swap to activate it and try it.

Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

No one else has complained of excessive battery drain so it must be something with your sim or network settings.

Hi

no I have been using the old 4g sim card on the iphone 12.

This issue is widely reported by a lot of users.

Several users have swapped their phone and the issue still remains. Which is why i am enquiring the mobile network.
