Possibly the OP knows it's them (02), but doesn't want bothering by these calls.

Could be the case...but as they haven't been back... we can only presume...

If it is o2 and unwanted the OP can call CS http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus and ask them to turn off marketing contact in their account preferences.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

Would it be possible for the O2 Community Management Team to ascertain if the number referred to is indeed O2 or any third party authorised to represent O2?   The issue seems to have been raised before but there is still uncertainty. Perhaps @Marjo would be willing to look into it?

A tip I picked up from here works quite well if you don't have call blocking: add the number to your contact list then set it to go to voicemail. Works on my Android MotoX.

The other tip is to set it to ring a silent ringtone for the caller. And work wonders why they can never contact me Good Idea
