Hubby and I have ported our old number to O2 but cannot change it on the iphone The correct number shows when we make calls but can't update the info on the phone settings

If you have iMessage and Facetime switched on turn them off, then reboot the phone, and you should be able to change your phone number if it doesnt automatically do so, once done turn iMessage and Facetime back on.
