I am a new customer to O2 and I was sent a standard SIM with my new phone instead of a micro SIM .
I am waiting for the correct SIM to arrive and I was told that I have to contact O2 for some sort of swap to be done. What is this for and is it necessary if I have not used the original SIM that was sent?
Thanks

Or do it at home via http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/ or text SWAP to 20220
This puts your tariff and number on to it.
Thanks for the reply. That method would be no use as I don't have a phone to put the wrong sized card in!

You'll have to phone O2 or go to an O2 shop for one.
You need a micro sim for this model.

I was wondering why the necessity to go thouogh a swap process when the original SIM had not been used.

The sim supplied with your new contract has your number on, any sim sent out or collected from an o2 store after the first one is blank for security reasons so that is why you need to do the swapmysim procedure.

Thanks Adam.
And for MI5, just to show that they are still sending out old style SIMs:
Perhaps because the Nokia 515 is 'old school', they assumed that it takes an old style card. But as they say, you should never assume as it makes an ass out of you and me :smileywink:.
