Upgraded phone not receiving authentication code

Just recieved my new upgrade and when trying to set up the phone the 2 factor authentication text isn’t coming through. What can I do?

Are you using your old sim or have you transferred the number?

Can you choose to receive the code by email in your gmail settings?

I’m connected to the network, just tried calling the phone from a different handset and that was ok. Just can’t get past the authentication code part 😭

No it’s asking god it to be sent as a text or phone call or to a trusted number....tried the trusted number but it seems I’ve never set one. When I tried to chose to recieve a phone call it says I’ve had too many code attempts....
