Phone and SIM for ski trip

Hello, 

We are planning a trip away skiing in France with our kids and want to get them a basic phone each to use in the event we accidentally get separated on the slopes. It won’t be a smart phone, just something they can use to call or text if required. I’ve been looking at PAYG SIMs but just wanted to ask if anyone has any previous experience or tips of what bundle or package we need? May get used once or twice a year.

All O2 PAYG sim cards give free calls and texts when in the EU.

Just the cheapest £10 a month is fine, you only need to top up once every 6 months but make sure you do it just before your trip to get the gree allowances for the following month.
