Stolen iPhone in tenerife

My son has had his phone stolen.

Devastated but what does he do as o2 won't talk to him as he is abroad??

It will be the account holder who has to report it stolen, Guide: Lost or Stolen O2 Device? - How to Report it  Also he needs to report it to the police in Tenerife..
