I currently have a pay monthly sim but was wondering if I can add a phone to my sim only contract.

After 3 months you can upgrade to a full phone contact or at anytime take an additional contract with phone subject to passing credit checks.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

You can't add a phone to the present contract if that is what you are asking. You need to upgrade and take out a fresh contract though your present tariff may not be available on a Refresh contract.

I am currently on O2 refresh but it has been like sim only as I bought a handset last year.
I was advised at the time to keep it running as I would not get my emergency services discount on a sim only tariff.

I have been looking at the sim only deal that is £21 for unlimited texts and minutes and 20GB data.
Would I be able to get my emergency services discount on that?

I will probably change anyway as it works out cheaper than addinga  data bundle to my current package

Thanks for the reply but the emergency services discount does not appear to be the same as O2 open other than it applies to airtime only.

Unless they have changed it for new accounts?

Best option is to clarify this with sales by calling customer service on 202.

There used to be a discount for emergency service personnel. It no longer exists under that name.  Is now classed as O2 Open and is for Refresh customers only @Anonymous  Shown in the link above
