I’m going on a cruise at the end of February visiting some of the Caribbean islands. I will be buying the cruise line WiFi package. Do I need to advise O2. I will only be using my phone when onboard and connected to their wifi

No need to tell O2.

You dont need to tell o2 anything, whilst on the cruise ship, just make sure mobile roaming is off, or put the phone into Airplane mode, and just turn on wifi, to avoid connecting to the ships own ripoff mobile network

Check the guide posted for the horrific charges if you get it wrong @Pam10

Hi,
In 2024 went crusing round the Caribbean but opted for the O2 Travel, which charges you £6 for the full 24hrs if you use data. Unfortunately for me, the day I decided to use it, I lost connection shortly after connecting but was charged the full £6.
On my return I quered this, knowing they would have a record of my device connecting to the internet but did not receive it. We didn,t buy the Wifi packages of the ship cause it was extortionate and just waited until we docked to avail of the local "pub" Wifi.
Enjoy your cruise.

We had a wifi package from the ship which we shared between 4 of us and worked out cheaper than using O2 travel.
Always pays to check for any deals via the travel company or cruise line.
