Ending my contract and switching to sim only

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

My 24 month contract ends next month. I don't want an upgrade, I'd ideally like to keep my phone and number and get a sim only deal (still on o2) How do I cancel my contract once the 24th month is up so I don't get charged afterwards? Also once I buy a sim only deal, does the monthly cost start from the buying date or can I choose what date it starts?
Please help

You can just upgrade to simo by calling CS on 202.
Your contract will automatically change at end of current one and your bill date will remain the same.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

You have to give 30 days notice...but have a look at this guide

Call 202 but choose a similar only tariff before you call. They will arrange it for you and you don't need a new sim if you are keeping the phone.

You don't need to give notice to switch to simo.

If it's wrong info it just confuses people. Simple.

To be fair.... I went from contract to sim only. I kept the same number and did it all by ringing customer services

Quick and painless....

Of course. It would have been so much easier to delete my post...but hey ho. Leaving it will teach others visiting the thread what you don't have to do. Equally important ....
