Same number as me

So me and a friend just realised we have the same phone number. We’ve tried texting each other and we just text ourselves. We’re BOTH with O2 except I moved my number over from vodafone years ago. She’s had the number for Just over a year. How has this happened? Also we’re both on contract.

It's not possible.

If one of you has an iPhone you need to check your number in Settings >Phone >My number as this can give issues with messages.

Well it isn’t impossible because we’ve tried it and it just doesn’t work

Ok, so what happens when you call?

It's not possible to have the same number. There must a problem with the settings of one or both of the phones.

My phone is fine I can tell you. I’ve had this number for literally years. When we call each other it obviously doesn’t go through. Straight to beeps

@TylerRiver I agree with the others that it isn't possible, but if you think you're correct, then you both need to speak to customer service.

With both phones active, what happens when a 3rd phone, mobile or land-line, tries to call you, or your friend's mobile number, @TylerRiver?
