So o2 rang me today and said I passed the credit check for a Samsung j6 but I haven't received the legal documents or email confirmation ?

Are you sure it was O2?

Often 3rd parties call people pretending to be from the networks.

I'd call O2 myself in the morning to check http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus
