Calls and SMS temporarily unavailable

Calls and SMS temporarily unavailable - for nearly 2 weeks. Signing in to account is not possible because I can't receive the security cade on a phone that does not work: perhaps 02 can have a think about this?

As I can't sign in I can't get a PACT to change networks: is this a ploy to retain customers?

We live in a very rural location, no landline and poor/unpredictable signal so having a chat isn't an option unless I am at work - difficult in a shop with customers coming in.

I have sent 2 emails and even though the problems started with an email to say my account had been upgraded (not by me) and there may be a security issue, I have yet to receive a reply. I realise that Christmas and the holiday increases the time it might take to respond, however,  my first contact was a week before Christmas.

I have used a different phone on another network to sign in here and post this, hopefully, someone will get back to me and explain how I can get a PACT without use of my 02 phone.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.

I was not expecting technical help from here but nothing else has worked.

I asked if there was a way to get a PACT without needing to use my 02 number. Without the use of the registered 02 number, for signing in and to receive security codes, it is not possible. 02 needs to get back to either live chat, or faster email response. Not everyone, particularly in rural areas has a phone signal. Phones get broken, hacked, lost etc.  If you can find a way to access your account, check for any security issues/ contract changes and get a PACT without the use of the number associated with that account, please let me know.

When you get into my O2 put another number in your contact details so you have a choice of number to receive security codes. I use my wife's Vodafone number

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

o2 have live chat via the o2 app, but you need to be logged into your o2 account...  o2 dont provide email support so you wont get a response, if you emailed the complaints email it will take upto 8 weeks to get a response...

And its a PAC code not a PACT code....

Thank you, I will do that - if I ever get back in to my account! It seems ridiculous that there isn't a plan B and that you have to have 2 numbers!

Thank you, I know but as I said, there was no other option: I have wasted hours trying to sort this.

If you have a different 'phone available to you @K28, can you put your O2 SIM therein and go to a location with a signal ? It is unclear whether it is your SIM that is not working, your handset that is not working or both.

If you can, text PAC to 65075 for free from your O2 SIM ! 👍
