Hi , I got a text from a number under the name UK saying my bill is overdue and saying a need to pay the bill otherwise a 6£ will be added to my next bill and offered me to pay through a secure link, the website and app was down and I was skeptic about this text message so I called o2 and asked if it was legit and they said it was so I pay my bill through this link they give me I have gotten a receipt number and everything, but when I go to my app is says not payed and I’ve gotten 2 emails and 1 message telling me to pay that bill I already payed so I call them again tell them everything and they say it can take up to 7 days to go through, I have never experienced even when payed with card it has always gone through automatically and no issues and now they have cut my services as well is this normal ?? Then I notice in this text it says pay using the link or call us free on 0333 234 1502 when I google that number nothing comes up help

You should set up a direct debit as per the contract T&C's to avoid any payment issues, but aside from that, you should only pay through the links in your MyO2 or by any other authorised methods as shown here Guide: How to Pay Your Bill (Airtime & Device Plans)

It's a well known scam.
Block the number and do not follow any links.
Forward the scam text to 7726 - It's free.
Other ways to report here including Action Fraud website

O2 never text from a mobile number.

 

If you think you’ve been the victim of fraud – whether that’s because you’ve given details to someone over the phone, or clicked on a link in a suspicious text or email – there are things you can do:
Contact your bank if you think you may have given out financial information. They can help protect your account and stop transactions
Change your account and online account passwords
Forward fraudulent texts to us for free on 7726 and we’ll look into them
Contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040
Call your Virgin Media or O2 customer services number if you think somebody’s taken out a contract with us using their details
Virgin Media customers can phone 150 from their landline or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone.
O2 customers can call 202 from their O2 phone or 0344 809 0202 from any other phone.

 I’ve been getting messages from this number constantly every month, I called o2 my self to pay my bill as I don’t trust stuff like this and  I read the entire message to her and she said this was O2 if this is a scam wth do I do because an o2 advisor told me this was safe
