Diverting calls remotely

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

I'm on a Pay Monthly tarriff and have left my phone at home.

Can someone remind me how I can dial into my phone from a work landline to divert my calls to my work landline.  I'm sure I've done this before and the guru doesn't seem to know.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous and all! Just double checked this with O2 to clear any confusions:

To confirm, without access to your phone, the only way a divert can be set up is via Customer Service, however a security check has to be passed first when you call them.

Voicemail can be accessed from another line though, and if you want to access it, Customer Service will be able to give you the direct voicemail number and a pin code to listen to the messages.

Thanks Marjo.
I was aware that customer service could it as they did it for me before now, obviously security needs to passed first or else anyone could do it.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Hi thanks for this, you lot are so helpful.

I've got the instructions to get voicemail remotely, the guru gave them to me  But I was told categorically that they couldn't divert my calls unless I had my phone with me.  I said I have the pin number and can give details for security but they said I had to have my phone with me, "its a security issue".

The asked me if someone at home could help while I'm at work, I didn't think my cat was up to the job 😕

Hi guys, customer service can set the divert from their end as long as the customer is the account holder and passed DPA – there is nothing in the process that says the customer has to have the handset with them to set up a divert. @Anonymous Let me send you a quick PM (private message here on the forum) shortly and we can check more in detail for you to help out!

@jonsie spot on about cats!
