I've just upgraded to a nice new Sony Z2 with a 4g contract. I've done a few speed tests in London and I'm a bit disappointed with the results. The max speed I've seen is 12mbps download and 1.2mbps upload. Those look like 3g speeds to me.
How do I know whether I'm actually getting 4g, and what speeds should I expect to see? I would expect to get at least 20mbps download and 10mbps upload minimum in a good 4g area...

The reported data may not have caught up with the actual data used

I agree as 3mb is not feasible.

I just did a 4G vs broadband over WiFi test using Ookla on two phones side by side here in North West London.
It's O2 4G vs Sky Broadband ADSL2+
The app reported approx 32Mbps down and 17Mbps up. Compared to broadband at 14Mbps down and 1.2Mbps up.
