Well I tried to get a contract tonight for a new phone. I was told I had to pay a high deposit which later I would get back. I decided not to go ahead.
Anyway,to try get the contract I had to put in my bank details and was assured that no money would be debited until I confirmed my order. Any after seeing the high deposit I decided not to go ahead with the contract. Well half hour later my bank texted me that 02 had taken out the upfront fee plus a tenner for delivery.
I am disgusted and appalled at 02 and I want my money back. How dare they take my money for a phone that I cant get anyway!!!

@Sfabs call customer service in the morning best time is 8am & ask them to refund you if you didn’t complete the order. Don’t use live chat

Hello,

Call customer services tomorrow to make sure the contract has not started, however if it hasn’t the deposit should bounce back within 72 hours call the bank after calling O2

@Jessiep123p They didn’t go ahead with a contract, you need to agree to the t&c within some emails before it’s accepted & they didn’t pay a deposit, it’s the upfront fee & delivery charge that has been taken

It will just be reserved funds which haven't actually left your bank account at all.
The O2 system would have requested a check of funds to your account which get "held" virtually whist you progress with the order. The bank's own system flags this as a transaction and you get a notification of it.
As you didn't progress with the order the held funds will reappear as usable funds within a couple of days.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.
Please select the post that helped you best and mark as the solution. This helps other members in resolving their issues faster. Thank you.

@Sfabs The ombudsman will not do anything as you need to fulfil the 8 weeks deadlock & full O2 complaints procedures before they’ll even look at it. Our community admin @EmilieT @Marjo will be back on Monday & could be able to help you
