Pac / new sim / £10 / pulling hair out

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

no classic payg sim came from weekend, so online chat said can pick up in store, wanted to catch the pac cut off for this week.

store insisted on £10 top up and said I would have to ring customer services for £10 transfer

denied there was an online transfer number form

have completed the online number transfer form, but unclear if first two boxes are old and old number or the temporary number (off of sim) for the second box so maybe won’t go through

i put the sim number in but what happens to my £10?

why the difficulty? # if wasn’t such a good tariff I think I would have gone elsewhere for the hassle

I’d give it 24hours and a couple of reboots to see if it settles down.
Hopefully you don’t have a split port.

Went via online chat and re-did the form.

(Could make the form clearer if they wanted old number as the o2 new number or o2 new number off the new sim)

Got confirmation email. “If you've already topped up your O2 Pay & Go SIM don't worry, we'll transfer the remaining credit over for you. If you've not yet topped up your O2 Pay & Go SIM, just top up once your number has been moved over”

WHY THE SHOP SAID CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICES

@Anonymous I'm a little confused. Were you already with O2 and just wanted to go onto a new tariff? If so, you didn't need a PAC. If you were porting your number from a different network, then you would, and you could have gone in store to get a new sim. We always suggest you speak to customer service rather than use Live Chat, as the latter is a little unreliable.
