I have been trying to convert my traditional Classic PAYG sim to e-sim, but no success.
In the O2 shop they even gave me a blank PAYG e-sim but couldn't do the swap. I phoned Customer Services four times, but they are hopeless; actually, hopeless in an understatement, they are a joke. First time, I was told the e-sim would be sent to me by post - never arrived. Second time, I was told the promise made on the first time never happened. Third time, I was kept on hold for an hour, told that the swap would take up to 48h, but did not happened. Fourth time, on hold for an hour, and then I got reconnected to a new staff member who had no idea what my request was and expected me to go through the security once again.
I tried to do it myself on the My O2 website, but when I enter the new e-sim serial number, it returns an error and advices to contact CS, which is a big joke as mentioned above.
I am only back from the O2 Shop where I was told the system has not been updated for that kind of sim swap yet.
Question is, why is the procedure similar to pulling teeth, and when will it be possible to do the swap either on the My O2 or in the O2 Shop?

As customers like yourself, we wouldn't know.
All we have is here Guide: Sim Swap: a mini guide 2017 update

Maybe because at this juncture O2 don't do eSIMs for PAYG?
