It won’t let me sign into my O2 when I reset my password and then put my phone number in it says my contact number is already associated with another account? Is this due to the change over of direct debits?

Have you tried logging into MyO2 via the web using the link at the top of this webpage ?

If you are using the app, it might be worth deleting it, restarting your handset and reinstalling it - that sometimes solves problems.
