Looks like you can use o2 data sims in the EU Zone, as we have been looking at something for work, and noticed this on the plan details and terms under the devices (this is on consumer sims)..

So o2 are openly advertising it now via the website and there they have removed all mention from the Help Pages of not been able to use Mobile Data in the EU...

@Kei-M_O2 can you get confirmation of this as well please

Hi - Was there any update to this? I took my iPad to France recently and couldn't connect to any network whilst I was there, despite roaming etc being turned on.

I had an online chat through the app when I got home with one of the O2 team who was adamant that data only tariffs were still for use in the UK only and the O2 T'c and C's page also says the same?

This is the extract from the Terms and Conditions:

Your inclusive allowances cover mainland calls, texts and data in our Europe Zone, except if you’re on a data-only (Mobile Broadband) tariff, data can only be used in the UK.  (Source: https://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/mobile/our-latest-pay-monthly-mobile-agreement

Thanks folks, the EU roaming regulations don't cover mobile broadband so the answer would be no to the original question.

We're in the process of seeing if we can get the website updated so it more clearly signposts it.

Thanks,

Which could be construed as mis selling and a breach of contract.. And technically the OFCOM regulations make no mention of Mobile Broadband all the mention is a mobile sim..

o2 are been a bit stupid really (no surprise) with not allowing mobile broadband sims to be used in the EU
