O2 MMS Legacy Media Messaging PIN Change?

We have a service provider who gives us virtual O2 numbers that support SMS but not voice or MMS, apparently.

However, we do get the ability to view MMS messages sent to this number using the "Legacy MMS Media Messaging" online pages on www.o2.co.uk/m.

We enter the number and the PIN.

How do I change this PIN?  I am having a lot of trouble finding out and have spoken to O2 and our SMS service provider but neither can help me.

Ideally I would like to turn off the MMS facility of the virtual number but apparently that can't be done.

Thank you.

As far as I know the pin is set when the message is sent by the network so I don’t think you can change it unfortunately.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Thanks for the reply, MI5 slight_smile

Does that mean that there is a different PIN for each message?

We have a static PIN, which means we can login with it whenever we want.

Clearly, though, I would like to change it periodically.

Normally yes, you would get a different pin with each message but I’m not familiar with your tariff arrangement which sounds different to the norm?

Hi @user-247 slight_smile I've double checked on my end and the info @MI5 shared is correct. The MMS PIN sent for you to enter with your number on the site is system generated at random for O2 security policy purposes. There is no way to override this and generate bespoke PINs.

Hope this helps!
