iPhone Not Recognised By iTunes

I have had a problem for a few days whereby my phone was not being recognised in iTunes, but it was recognised by my laptop as it came up to charge and view the files.

After asking some people advice, I was told that I should uninstall/reinstall it, which I didn't want to do as I lost a lot of music last time I did it (songs copies from CD's).

I checked for updates to iTunes (it recently updated) but there were no further updates.  I tried to repair the program in the control panel but it didn't help.

I did a Google search and came across this site.  It's an easy step by step guide and it worked right away (no reboot needed).

Thanks for sharing.

Other options are to put the iPhone into DFU Mode.

Thanks Bob.

I tried to put it in DFU mode but it still wouldn't recognise in iTunes.

When I plugged the phone in to the laptop, it'd come up the folder to view the files and it would charge but I was unable to get it to come up on iTunes.

Thanks.

It was annoying trying to find a solution which didn't involve having to delete and reinstall iTunes but luckily that link helped

As you know, i'm not very technical and the link had basic steps and screenshots so that even I could understand it

Whatever works for you is the main point.

I systematically save all my music to a memory stick and portable harddrive.

Then if anything glitches {touchwood it does not} my music etc is saved safely away from any PC/Mac.

Any purchases made via itunes is saved remotely and easily re downloadable.

I back up the music too, however I have been unable to save my playlists and album art, etc.  I lost it all last time I had to reinstall it.

Nightmare.

I'm a little OCD with that kind of stuff.

I even have my apps in alphabetical order on my iPhone Smiley Embarassed
