Broken phone & not insured.... advice?

Hey there
I am a pay monthly customer on O2. I have had an iphone5 since last summer however it has broken (long story) & I am now without a phone. As it was not insured. I have got my old phone (iPhone 4S) however the sim is bigger for the 4S. Does anyone know if O2 will be able to send me a new sim for the 4S keeping my number, and if so how much this costs?
And, if I were to get an iPhone 5 again at a later stage which is highly likely as my hubbies contact is due in. Few months, would it then be able to swap it back to an iPhone 5 sim?

You can get a free sim from calling into 202, or going into store, this is free of charge. You can do the same if you want to go back to a nano sim in the future.

Could you maybe covered on your contents or bank insurance?

You can swap anytime and keep the same number. Your best and quickest option would be to pop into your local O2 store.

o2 provide free sim adapters from stores or via posting one.

 

You could put your nano sim in this to use in the iPhone 4s.

 

Are you aware the iPhone 5 has been discontinued by Apple and has been superseded by the iPhone 5c , although that model has not really taken off.

 

Their are not many outlets now supplying brand new iPhone 5 units but refurb ones instead.

 

Perhaps consider the iPhone 5s which is 4G compatible as the iPhone 5 is not.

 

Just a thought for the future.

If you choose to order a blank sim online or via telephone support you will need to use this form to switch your account to the new sim card http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/
However, you will need to be able to receive a text message on your old sim to activate the swap process.
If this is not possible you can call up to CS again to activate the new sim or if you go into an O2 shop they can do it all while you wait.
