How come??? my friends are sending me text msges which are 1kb in size and its not letting me open them! Getting ANNOYED!

Have you got mobile data turned on and at least a good 3g signal?
If so, try texting the word "active" to 2020 and save the settings you get sent back, then reboot the phone.
