cannot receive emails anymore

I have a Galaxy 3 and originally I could receive my emails on it. Suddenly it stopped and when I  try to set up the email it gets so far and then says Authentication Failed. As I am not great with mobiles, setting up the email account is about as far as my technology goes. Can anyone help or do I need to take it into a store

You need to check your 2 stage authentication password for outlook. As I said above, it's a password error.

This happened a couple of times with my S3. I just uninstalled the email app.....reinstalled it...rebooted the phone and voila it all worked again perfectly. Same trick works on my Note 3

Hi @Anonymous

Have you tried these?

- Go to settings
Then Account Settings
Select your email account
and then tap Sync settings

- Open Settings
then tap Data usage
then click on Menu
and check Auto-sync data.

After turn your wi-fi off for a few seconds and then back on . Hope these help slight_smile

Sounds like a password error.
Make sure you are entering it correctly with the correct upper and lower case characters.

I can't go to my email account because I deleted it and that is my problem it won't let me set it up again. It says "set up could not be finished Authentication failed" This problem seemed to arise immediately after I'd applied 2nd level security to my MIcrosoft outlook email account on my lap top. The funny thing is I get an incoming message sound on my phone but its got nowhere to go to. I'm sorry I'm not very good when things go wrong and right now I am ready to throw this thing down the toilet!!!
