To search for an application from the Application screen

  1. When the Application screen is open, tap Search applications or simply swipe down on the Application screen or Home screen.
  2. Enter the name of the application that you want to search for.

@Anonymous

You need to look for "Play Store" in your apps and update messenger from there.

Open play store.

Tap the 3 horizontal bars at the top of page.

Tap on My apps and games.

Tap on Update all.

Thank you @MI5 for your reply

I have located Google Play Store on my phone ... & ... see 3 vertical dots in top right hand corner of phone screen

Upon pressing the 3 dots 'Uninstall updates' is shown in top right hand corner of phone screen

I don't know what to do from this point ?

Apologies for making this 'heavy weather' as is usual with me and tech stuff

You need to open the Play store app from your app drawer, not from settings >apps.

It might be in a folder named Google.

@MI5 I can't seem to see the 'carrier bag' icon you have kindly posted for me to search for *sighs*

As I am bordering on pressing things somewhat 'willy nilly' ... I think it's best I pick this up tomorrow, when hopefully I shall be able to do something more positive

Thank you @MI5

I do not know what firmware I am on ... however ... my gut feeling is that I don't have it ... or ... it is somehow 'hidden'

I am beginning to have that boggling feeling slight_frown

I do try with tech stuff ... but ... always seem to struggle

Guess I'm just not built for the 21st century *shrugs shoulders*

You have a lot of patience with my ineptness MI5, for which I heartily thank you

Well, if you say it is there somewhere @MI5 then it should be ... however ... at present, in Wispa's World ... I think I need to go to Specsavers wink

Will properly checkout the link you have posted early tomorrow morning

Currently ... my brain is fast approaching co-codamol time

For now MI5 ... Over & Out wink
