I'm not sure what to make of the giffgaff announcement. It's good that there is a charity option (meaning refunds will be similar to O2) but a fund will be set aside.

Thats open to interpretation and I guess it will be based on an individuals circumstances. How will they calculate the worth of the ambulance chasers' claims? Do they have to post on the website or email in? Strange one I think.

Yes @jonsie lots of people seemed to have an emergency on the 6th.. but felt the forum was the place to seek help (replace help with retribution)

Hmmm so what do you think it costs to operate a business bank account? It won't be zero like consumer ones I can assure you and most of the money will be directed to paying off debt bonds etc. 

 

But anyway, we could have had zero as any network is not obliged to give you anything by the regulator in this type of outage. Proof: read this from Ofcom and check your T&C's where you'll discover there is no automatic right to compensation (note: in certain circumstances there are).

I was wondering why the country didn't close down too ~ all those who couldn't get there, go there, contact persons, couldn't navigate ~ how did the eletricity companies switch on, how did the buses run, how did the trains run, how did it rain, what if we had an earthquake we wouldn't really know ~ did the sun come up? We can't switch things on! We can't switch things off! We can't open our curtains and the car won't start. 

The boiler won't turn on (with Hive) or similar that little Penguin is frozen.  We are on Shut-down.

Sorry just had to say all that ~ not my style really but enjoyed it.

Obviously if they were obliged to this thread would be moot . You clearly are ok with the low morality and complete lack of concern for customer satisfaction.

Most people are @TallTrees but as soon as one (or a hundred on here!) mentions compo, the bandwagon just rolls along with it seems, never ending numbers wanting to jump on it....
