There is a bolt on that is available to me, yet it has no explanation and I can't find anything relating to it anywhere on the O2 site or on Google. It is the Protect Bolt On which is available for me to add for free, but I don't know what it does. Any suggestions?

Same here. I found this :
O2 Protect is a type of insurance offered by O2 that provides coverage for accidental damage, theft, or loss of your phone or tablet, offering peace of mind against unexpected incidents.
Here's a more detailed explanation:
- What it is: O2 Protect is an insurance policy that you can add to your O2 mobile plan to protect your device (phone or tablet) from accidental damage, theft, or loss.
- Coverage: The policy aims to provide financial protection in case of such unfortunate events, helping you replace or repair your device.
- How to check if you have it: You can check if you have O2 Protect cover by logging into your My O2 account or by checking your policy document and Insurance Product Information Document (IPID).
- How to make a claim: If you need to make a claim, you can log into your My O2 account to do so.
- Bolt Ons: O2 Protect can be added as a Bolt On to your existing mobile tariff.
- O2 Insure: O2 Protect is also referred to as O2 Insure.
