I assume you "going back home" is meaning going back to your home country ?
So another possible avenue would be to sell the handset to raise some capitol to help pay off the contract.
Or if you have family close by then you could sell the contract to them. i.e them use your sim and pay the bill. Obviously they would have to be 100% trust worthy.

ring 202 and ask for the termination price it will be months left x tariff so could be expensive

Hi, I cancelled my contract last month(August) when it came up for renewal & have gone with another provider (number changed), however I see I have been charged for Sept & my o2 statements are made up for future use age any ideas how to stop my direct debit with o2 ( bank has cancelled it but recommend doing so with o2 also )
