In theory you can share up to 10 devices @adamtemp64 and I thought IF 30Gb could be shared between those it might get used.....but as I say it's only 20gb maximum......

For me I use 4-5+ GB a month on a 5GB data plan so wouldn't really use 30GB as I have high speed broadband at home but like the idea of upgrading after 12 months I. e get the iPhone 6s Plus then iPhone 7 or 7s

Just look at the bigger picture and work out the overall cost.

If it works in your favour, go for it.

According to @adamtemp64's post on here you have to return the handset after 12 months on his 30GB tariff..

I wonder if you are penalised if the handset isn't in pristine condition?....

You return the handset and get the current o2 recycle price for it so yes, I imagine a bashed up phone would be worth considerably less unless there is any gap insurance paid by o2, which potentially could be factored into the tariff cost.

sections 7 and 8 say this

Where your Existing Phone is worth less than the O2 Payment you will not be required to pay the difference.

Where the value of your Existing Phone is worth more than the O2 Payment, O2 will not be obliged to pay you the difference between the O2 Payment and the actual value of your Existing Phone.

Its a dodgy ground anyway, if you need to run the full contract for a full 12 months before upgrading, none will be able to upgrade for pre order release day of the next iPhone. Only once the device is launched. So most will take other routes to sell off old one, pay off device plan and upgrade to pre order, keeping o2 well in the profit.
