I recently switched to O2 for the offer of 40GB per month 24 month contract Apple iPhone 11 for £26 per month (inc. VAT) but notice on my first bill VAT is on top? Feel like I’ve been totally mis sold... over the course of 24 months this will add up to an additional £96 which I did not sign up for!!

@Baliinda

Vat is inclusive in the price shown if you are on personal consumer contract. It's exclusive of vat if it's a business contract.

Which contract are you on?

The £26 is including VAT

They have to show the VAT separately by law

Your first bill is pro rata as it includes the first couple of days before your bill is produced

@Baliinda

VAT is included on all consumer contracts (not business) but your bill will show the breakdown without VAT and then with the addition of VAT.

The totall is the advertised price.

Your first bill is always a little higher as explained here https://www.o2.co.uk/help/account-and-billing/your-bill

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

The first bill came to £29.36 ...£26 + £3.36 VAT so just wondering if the next bills will be £26 as advertised (including vat ) or they will always be £29.36 going forward (vat on top)

@Baliinda As explained in the link I gave you, your first bill is always higher but subsequent bills will be the base tariff price, unless you have any use outside of your allowances.

As I stated, your first bill is higher due to it being pro rata

Next bill will be £2 unless you have any out of allowance charges

If you check the dates on the bill it would show two different months to indicate it would be a full month and a part month.
