Unlock sim with PUK code

i have the PUK code to unlock my sim but where am i supposed to enter the code? do i wait for a text? do i do something on my phone or need to call someone?

You need to put an EE, Vodafone or Three sim in your phone and it will ask you to enter the unlock code.
Make sure you have the correct code though and stop if it fails the first time.

Ps I am assuming it’s to unlock because if it really was a PUK the message would be permanently displayed on screen until the code was entered?
