Trying to keep my old number

Anonymous
Not applicable
I recently got a new phone that required a new sim. I decided to change from my current pay & go to a pay monthly sim but the issue arose when I wanted to keep my current pay & go phone number. I was attempting to keep my number but in doing so I used the sim swap thing but the pay monthly sim was already activated, like I had service, in store when I bought the phone and it came with a temporary number.

So my questions are:
1) Will anything happen as I tried to sim swap an activated sim?
And 2) How do I keep my old number?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you slight_smile

You need the keep my number form not the sim swap.
If you google o2 keep my number it will come up.

1) it will fail
2) you need to call 202 from your pay monthly sim and ask to migrate your pay and go number over.

Yes, the pay and go sim is still active. Also, are calling 202 and using the form reaching the same conclusion of keeping my old number? And on the form it asks about whether your on pay monthly or pay and go, is that the new sim or the old sim?
I'm kind of new to this whole changing sim thing

Calling and using the form are the same thing

order of form should be payg then moving to pay monthly so sections 1 and 3 on the form .

Hope that helps

The old sim details are your payg sim and the new sim your contract sim.

Using the form or calling 202 will give you the same end result. Once your payandgo sim loses connection the number change is going through. You need to keep rebooting the new phone and sim until the process is complete.
