Trying to keep my old number

Anonymous
Not applicable
I recently got a new phone that required a new sim. I decided to change from my current pay & go to a pay monthly sim but the issue arose when I wanted to keep my current pay & go phone number. I was attempting to keep my number but in doing so I used the sim swap thing but the pay monthly sim was already activated, like I had service, in store when I bought the phone and it came with a temporary number.

So my questions are:
1) Will anything happen as I tried to sim swap an activated sim?
And 2) How do I keep my old number?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you slight_smile

It's been a few days since I filled in the form and I waited until after the weekend just to be sure but the number still hasn't changed. So what would you guys recommend I do now? Should I like talk to the O2 Gurus or like go into a store or whatever? I just want my old number to switch from my old sim to my new one.

@Anonymous All the advice given on this thread has been correct. It's been 6 days since you first tried to transfer your payg number to your contract sim so something has gone badly wrong. It should take no longer than 24 hrs and is often much less. (ours swapped in 15 minutes) If you used this form

http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,Ts=Webforms,T=PreToPost

and kept rebooting your phone and it hasnt transferred...you should be taking it into your nearest O2 store and asking them to do it for you. You have tried everything else.

CS will do it on the phone.
Call 202, no need to make a store visit.
