Just been in contact with O2 customer services if i upgrade to a new plan with a new device i do not have to pay contract off as it only applies to device plans.

That's very interesting to know and something I wasn't aware of, so yes clarification from our community managers @Marjo and @EmilieT is needed for us to be able to pass this on to others @ste064

I've just checked my myo2 and it says I can upgrade now from my simo that I've only had for a month, so it is correct.

So does mine. The point I wasn't aware of was that I could upgrade without paying off my sim only. That was the clarification I was looking for

Makes sense. O2 want you to upgrade so why should they penalise customers by making them pay off a simo. About time they realised this. O2, the network of innovation 👃

Hi again guys, so customers who are on a 12-month SIM only plan can upgrade after they have been with O2 for a minimum of 3 months, without termination fee. You can check out the terms here.
