Stealing money from account

Why does O2 take money from your pay and go account for data use you don't ask for. They don't give you an option to decline it. It's a form of stealing from your account

You need to turn off mobile data on your phone.
How does O2 know you don't want to use data? They are only providing the service your phone is requesting.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Your post is close to libellous!

Turn the data off and the problem is solved.

Why should they be responsible for you not finding out how the phone works and what it does?

If you'd done a search in the forum before posting your absurd statement you would have seen numerous posts about the data being used on your phone and how to control it.

Or alternatively add data via a bundle or via a different tariff

One permanent way to stop connection is to Purposefully changing the apn settings within your phone.

If your data is switched off, then how could you be using any? What phone do you have and what specifically have you done to switch off your data?

It's a galaxy ace. The data roaming box is not ticked. It's only happened the last 4 days in a row since changing the SIM card into this new phone
